The focus of this research group is devoted to experimental studies about multimodal mapping of the human brain. The aim of the scientists is the development of a new, 3-D realistic brain model on the basis of cytoarchitectonic, molecular and functional data as well as connectivity. The Data Life Cycle Lab Health supports first and foremost the research team of the INM institute at Research Centre Juelich which develops a model of the human brain – the JuBrain - that is based on histological sections of postmortem brains using state-of-the-art image analysis and advanced methods for the objective and statistically testable definition of cortical parcellations. The goal is to optimise

  • data and compute intensive workflows in the image analysis process
  • metadata catalogues and services
  • the federated data access
  • the data life cycle as a whole
